1) In Oxford Looking for a best price repair on a 15inch early2008 macbook pro. Told by Apple the logic board has gone and the cost makes me wonder if it is worth repairing ? Seems there is a known prob with nvidia chip ? Do apple repair this free of charge as it is known about ?

Should have the serial No for the mac and the exact problem on start up this evening so a call on Friday 30 th to me would be best (the mac is my sons who is a student so I don't have the mac with me right at the moment). Mine is a Macbook Pro 

2) I need iMac mac repair blank blue screen, would like to try reinstalling 10.4 tiger as nothing else i have tried has worked !

3) I have a MacBook pro 15 inch that stopped working. I brought it to two apple stores in two different countries who both gave me different reasons why it died. They also were not able to recover data which is ludicrous because I did it myself afterwords Im in Oxford. Having lost some faith in the apple store how much would you charge for a HD upgrade and a full diagnostic of my macs hardware? The first store said it was a logic board issue and the second said it was a HD issue. I also need the rest of my data recovered asbi have only done so partially. 

4) A few weeks ago I went to make myself a brew and when I came back my mac had crashed and the fans were going so much I thought it was going to take off! I forced shut down and got the grey screen with the apple logo! I tried countless boot up commands - it has worked a couple of times (on various commands) but after a while just crashed again. Over the weekend I tried everything possible with my powerbook to get it going and as I last attempt decided to erase my hard drive with the use of another mac and re installed osx - this seemed to work for a while and was running fine until I tried installing some updates and then it crashed. Now nothing I do works. 

Do you have any suggestions?
